Are you ready to make an impact at one of London's leading Further Education providers? Capital City College is looking for a skilled ALS Manager to support and drive key operational functions, helping shape the future of education in the heart of London.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent role responsible for managing ALS provision across the mainstream cohort at both Angel and Finsbury Park campuses, including the line management of staff across both sites.

Job Purpose:

  • To ensure the vision for the Additional Learning Support (ALS) Team is implemented through the effective management of systems and processes, development of interventions and modelling quality first teaching.
  • To ensure the CCC SEND policy is followed and statutory responsibilities/funding are met, in accordance with ALS Team's timeline.
  • To line manage the ALS Team across the mainstream provisions

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To lead the implementation of ALS under the direction of the Group Head of School ALS and KS4.
  • Manage and oversee the ASF budget for adult learners within the ALS provision, demonstrating a strong understanding of EFA/SFA funding methodologies in relation to ALS.
  • Take on cross CCCG responsibility for all of the following across two mainstream provisions:
    • EHCPs
    • High Needs Funding
    • Allocation and management of LSAs
    • Co-ordination of Exam Access Arrangements (EAA)

About you:

We're looking for a reliable and motivated individual who takes pride in delivering excellent service.

  • A relevant first degree and/or professional qualification in a relevant subject area, with an excellent understanding of Curriculum Intent and of achieving a high standard of innovation and delivery in Teaching, Learning & Assessment.
  • Experience as a successful leader and manager within an educational setting
  • Experience and proven success in supporting learners with additional needs.
  • Experience of delivering high quality learning support
  • A good knowledge and understanding of assessment and diagnostic procedures
  • An understanding of EFA/SFA funding methodology in relation to ALS
  • A good understanding of current legislation relating to ALS.
  • A good working knowledge of eSpirALS system.
  • A good understanding of the EHCP consultation process.
  • A good understanding of the EHCP annual review process.
  • A good understanding of deploying appropriate staff to support students.
