Architectural Designer
Resi is the UK’s number one home extension company transforming how homeowners design, plan and build. With over 10,000 projects nationwide and a 95% planning approval rate, we make architecture accessible and transparent through a digital platform that brings design, planning and build support together.
We are hiring for an architectural designer with experience using Revit on live projects to join our team in Oval on a full-time permanent basis.
Are you fed up with feeling like you don’t have the right support to take your career to the next level? Or you don’t get to see enough projects, and spend more time doing admin than actual design work? Do you want to be at the forefront of new industry technology and construction methods, like SIPs, or ensuring your customer’s homes are the healthiest they can possibly be by specifying Retrofit measures? Then this could be the role for you.
Key Responsibilities of our Architectural Designers:
- Working alongside a Senior Designer to understand client briefs and create designs that interpret their needs, motivations and budget for their project
- Designing to gain planning approval first time round
- Working collaboratively alongside a wider team of designers, surveyors, planners and building regulations specialists, leveraging support when required
- Compiling complete planning packages, forms and all associated documents in order to fulfil the needs of the local authority
- Exercising a basic understanding of the technical aspects around drainage, the Party Wall Act, planning legislation, building regulations, on-site potential queries, tendering process, contracts and programmes
- Explorative work utilising AI in architecture
- Working to deadlines and consistently hitting targets
- Living the Resi values, and holding others accountable to them (Drive It, Do More with Less and Deliver with Love)
About You:
We know that every architectural designer brings something different to the table, but to have the best chance of success in this role, we think you need to have:
- Ideally, experience working on private residential architectural design (not essential!)
- Proficient use of Revit, with experience using the software in practice
- Able to work on numerous projects simultaneously
- Client-oriented
- A genuine interest in working in a non-typical architectural practice environment
