Head of HR


We are seeking a dynamic, impactful, and experienced Head of HR to serve as a pivotal strategic partner with the business during a critical phase of business maturity.

This role is critical for shaping Wrisk's people strategy, and we require a proven leader adept at advising and delivering across the entire employee lifecycle and supporting our 120-person team.

Key Focus and Impact:

  • Strategic, Operational, and Tactical Execution: You will operate fluidly across strategic planning, operational excellence, and tactical delivery, ensuring our HR practices not only support but actively drive business objectives.
  • International Scaling: With a growing presence across the UK, Austria, Germany, Ireland, and India, you must possess strong experience in international HR best practices and compliance to facilitate effective cross-country growth.
  • Problem-Solving & Delivery: A core requirement is the ability to quickly understand complex organisational challenges and drive through to practical, effective solutions.
  • Ownership and Hands-On Approach: We require a highly confident self-starter capable of managing multiple projects while remaining hands-on and close to daily operational activities.

In the Shoreditch office 2-3 days per week, quarterly travel to Vienna, Munich and Edinburgh.

Full-time, permanent role with 1 direct report.

Working hours 9-5 with flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HR function, managing the overall performance and budget of the department.
  • Act as a soundboard and partner to the senior leadership team, fostering a strong, inspiring collegiate leadership group.
  • Drive engagement and the execution of the company values through the leadership team, promoting a culture of high performance.
  • Own and lead change management initiatives across the organisation.
  • Define the company's EVP to enhance worldwide talent attraction and retention.
  • Develop a comprehensive career framework that ensures transparency in employee development, succession planning, and financial reward structures.
  • Develop and deploy a robust framework for top-tier performance management, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Design and roll out clear career paths for employees to facilitate growth and internal mobility.
  • Manage and streamline top-down communications, ensuring necessary follow-up and clarity across the organization.
  • Communicate the business roadmap, project status, issues, and risks effectively to all stakeholders, presenting resolution and workaround options where necessary.
  • Effectively manage verbal and written communications with cross-functional teams and senior management, tailoring the message to the audience to ensure understanding and provoke engagement.
  • Define and manage achievable project and resource plans within a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
  • Plan, manage, and maintain control over key project milestones, metrics, and success factors.
  • Ensure project objectives and scope are clearly defined, understood by all impacted stakeholders, and formally approved.

Requirements

  • Sector and Scale: Experience within an organisation of similar structure and size (approx. 120 employees) that operates across multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Transformation Leadership: Proven track record of leading and successfully driving transformation and company-wide change initiatives to completion.
  • International & Integration: International HR exposure and managing the HR aspects of business integration.
  • Talent Acquisition: Experienced in all aspects of the recruitment lifecycle, capable of shaping and implementing strategies for global talent attraction.
  • Leadership Presence: Prior experience engaging and presenting to Board or Executive Leadership teams, translating HR strategy into tangible business outcomes.
  • Drive & Innovation: Highly motivated, innovative, and proactive, possessing a genuine commitment to a 'hands-on,' roll-up-your-sleeves approach.
  • Strategic Execution: Ability to define, shape, and drive complex projects to completion, maintaining momentum and accountability across global teams.
  • Analytical: Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of dissecting complex business problems and presenting clear, actionable recommendations to senior management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the resilience and confidence to navigate difficult stakeholder and project conversations, interacting effectively across all levels and functional disciplines.
