Senior Purchase Ledger Administrator

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Senior Purchase Ledger Administrator. This role provides an opportunity to help shape processes and will support the business through upcoming IT system and Accounts Payable process changes, helping to build improvements. Key elements of the role will entail providing support to a small team and backup to the Purchase Ledger Manager
What will you be doing day-to-day?

Supporting the Purchase Ledger Manager and finance teams to help the team run efficiently
Main point of contact for larger supplier accounts, including reconciling monthly statements and processing payments, dealing with queries and resolving disputes
Reconciling and processing monthly netting agreements for supplier accounts
Posting manual supplier payments to the financial system and processing of supplier invoices
Reconciliation of Supplier Statements and the monthly credit card statement
Processing payments via the bank and credit card
Reviewing employee expenses and ensuring these are in line with Group policy and HMRC rules
Reviewing all supplier accounts for the monthly creditors meeting and presenting this information to the purchase ledger manager
Weekly setup of employee accounts on the expenses and travel booking systems
Processing monthly Channel Partner commissions and dealing with any queries
Providing system training to employees across the business on expenses, raising purchase orders and booking travel
Review and approval of supplier and employee account setups completed by the Purchase Ledger Administrators

What You’ll Need

Prior experience in purchase ledger or an understanding of accountancy
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work to deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Motivated and enthusiastic
Professional telephone manner
Committed and strives for excellent client service
Highly numerate
Strong Excel skills

Prior involvement/experience in the following would be beneficial:

Shared Service harmonised AP processes
Invoice OCR scanning e.g. Readsoft or other OCR applications
Rollout of new finance systems/AP modules. Particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Improvement of purchase to pay processes
Introducing 3-way matching concepts/wide use of Purchase Orders
